When I woke up I went outside and grabbed a quick breakfast. After this I went to attend a futbol match. I thought about taking the subway, but i decided I wanted to see more of the city so I took a taxi. In the center of the city there were large houses, museums, government buildings, and movie theaters. The outer edges of the city consisted of apartments. Finally, I arrived at the stadium, and I bought a ticket. The futbol match was quite fun. Many people came to support their team. Fans were wearing their favorite player’s jerseys, and had painted their bodies with their teams colors. They were also waving flags and cheering. Finally, La Roja pulled ahead and came out on top. Everyone went crazy and started screaming in joy. At the event I had some lomo a la pobre. Now I understand why it is such a popular dish. After the match, I decided to go horseback riding in the desert. Horseback riding is a popular sport in Chile. I got to see much of the country’s wildlife such as cacti, and I even saw a chinchilla. A chinchilla is a type of rodent that was once hunted for its fur. I also saw some cows on a farm in an area that had some more fertile land, and was less of a desert. There were valleys and other geological features I came across. I was instructed not to go too far, because there were mountain lions in the area. Whilst on my journey i got to feel the full effect of Chile’s Mediterranean climate. It was very hot and soon I decided to start to head back before I ran out of water. It was already beginning to get dark. I headed back to my hotel. Right before I reached my hotel, I got out and took one final look at the last country on my adventure.Thursday, February 4, 2016
